Respect for the Other Persons Model of the World.

Reality is in the eye of the beholder. We each create our own reality and everyone has a unique world view. It is known as fact that everyone experiences the same situations differently. You can sit next to your significant other and watch the same movie and tell a different story or explanation. This is because everyone interprets their reality through their world view.

This being said we must respect that other people’s model of the world will be different to yours and that is perfectly OK. In fact, it is a positive thing that we see the world differently. This diversity in perspective gives us a huge advantage in creating the best chance to find real truth.

Humans are bombarded with 2 million bits of data per second and from those 2 million bits are brain can roughly only grab 126 bits to interact with. We delete, distort and generalize the rest to save us from going insane. We take those 126 bits and chunk them into groups and for the most part can remember 7 +/- 2. So, in every second, people are creating their own internal representation and it will most definitely be completely different from the 126 bits you took in.

Remember, we judge others by their behavior and we judge ourselves by our intentions. Respect this and you will respect others world views.
