I did some research, listened to a couple of podcasts (thanks John Lee Dumas) and started taking action. Definitely not easy but I am already getting multiple responses from great publications. The trick is to reserve time to search for people in the publications you want to be mentioned in that are writing similar stories you want to publish. Or in the industry you want to publish in. The second trick is to actually send a thoughtful email, phone call or direct message offering value to them and their readers, while stating your authority in the matter. Simple, not easy!
